A few key words to my fanfic series "Grains of Time"
Amanda and Nick
The Author – The one you run to begging for sequels, but remember to ask nicely (bribing bazooka is *not* considered being nice)
David Goldstein – Rachel’s son. He is around eleven years old, with dark brown hair and a pale, round face. He has his mother’s blue eyes and infectious grin.
Erik- nicknamed "The Bloody", Erik is an Immortal originating from the Viking age. He becomes Nick's teacher
Frank Holloway – He was a detective at the Sydney Water Police and Rachel’s partner when the death of an old friend made him reconsider his life. He left the force, and decided to sail to Venezuela. He asked Rachel to come, but she declined (probably because of her job and her son). He has no kids, and two failed marriages

The Footloose – Frank’s boat which he inherited from a friend
The Game – “There can only be one” Immortal left at the end, and the Game is the ritual fights Immortals fight between themselves The winner survives, the loser get one less head.
Helen Blakemore – Colleague of Frank and Rachel, and a good friend of both. She’s petite and dark-haired, with a sensible attitude and fearsome integrity.
Highlander – The first movie introduced an Immortal Scotsman called the Highlander. This launced the franchise (more movies, a TV series..) which Highlander: The Raven is a spin-off from. The character of Amanda was originally introduced in Highlander: The Series
Holy Ground – The rules of the Game dictate that no Immortal can kill another on Holy Ground. Holy Ground is considered to be cemeteries, churches, old burial grounds etc.
Immortal – A person who cannot die, except by decapitating of the head. The first death triggers the Immortality, and the powers which come with it. After that, an Immortal does not truely die excpet when beheaded. If they're killed otherwise, they just wake up after a little while, all healed
Jack – Rachel’s ex-lover and ex-partner. She died her first death in his arms, and he partly blames himself for her death
Jeff – Frank and Rachel’s boss at the Sydney Water Police
Joe Dawson – Part of the organisation known as the Watchers. Both Nick and Amanda know him
Jonathon Goldstein - Rachel's ex and father of David.
Lauren Wolfe – Nick’s ex-wife. Returning to his life to get help on a case, she was killed by an Immortal
London – Capital of good ole' England, and main stage for "Grains of Time"
Nick Wolfe – Nick had been a cop for 12 years when his partner died, and he quit the force soon thereafter. He formed a friendship with Amanda despite their differences, and moved to Paris with her where he ran the European part of a security company. Upon dying and discovering he was Immortal, he walked away from Amanda in anger. In my story he left Paris altogether.

Oslo - capital of Norway
Paris – Capital of France, and the location of The Sanctuary. Nick and Amanda moved here after knowing each other some months
Pre-Immortal – An Immortal who have not died his/hers first death and do not have any Immortal powers like sensing Presences etc. Pre-Immortals do however rarely get ill, and heal quicker than normal people
Presence – An Immortal can sense another Immortal nearby
The Quickening – Occurs when an Immortal truly dies, and is a "transfer of powers" of sorts.
Rachel Goldstein – When Frank left, Rachel’s new partner was ex-boyfriend Jack. The two eventually got back together, when she was tragically stabbed and believed to be dead. She has a son named David with ex-husband Jonathon

Raven : One of many names on an Immortal who was Erik's trainer. She takes an interest in David Goldstein, as well as Frank, Rachel, Nick and Amanda. Her real age remains a secret
(Highlander) The Raven – the title of the show comes from a legend referred to by Nick in the first episode, about the Raven who stole the sun, the moon and all the stars. A warrior was sent to bring her back, who did find her, and together the brought back light to the world
The Sanctuary – A bar which Amanda owns, and both Nick and Amanda live (though on different floors)
Sydney - Largest city in Australia and main stage for "Raison d’ętre"
Watchers – An organisation who watches and record Immortal activity.
